I just returned from Woonsocket, RI, where I gave a #presentation titled, "Practical Genetic Genealogy: Using Your DNA to Find Relatives" at the American-French Genealogical Society (AFGS). I spoke about the different DNA testing companies and how to interpret autosomal results, including how #endogamy (which is prevalent among French-Canadians and Acadians/Cajuns) can affect #DNA matches and how to navigate them.

The talk was recorded, so if you join AFGS, you can watch it in their members-only area: https://afgs.org/site/join-afgsor-renew-online/. I presented a LOT of information and was told by a few in the audience they would go home and watch it again to make sure they captured everything. I even may have helped one member solve a DNA mystery during the question and answer period!

It was a great experience, and I hope to speak again at AFGS sometime in the future!
